The mind is a powerful part of the body. When the mind is right, the actions are right because your thoughts steer your actions and utterances. No wonder in the Bible, Apostle Paul in his letter to the Philippians in Philippians 4: 8 wrote...''Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are True, whatsoever things are Honest, whatsoever things are Just, whatsoever things are Pure, whatsoever things are Lovely, whatsoever things are of Good Report; if there be any Virtue, and if there be any Praise, think on these things''.
This means if what is going through your mind is neither true, nor honest, nor just, nor pure, nor lovely, nor of good report, nor of virtue, nor praise...Don't Think of It
How then can one think good thoughts?
We need to be conscious of what we think. 1 Peter 5:8-9..'' Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings''.
We have divine authority to control what we allow our minds to process. In 2 Corinthians 10:5 ..Apostle Paul writes...''We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ''.
Action Points:
If you find yourself deviating from good or descent thoughts remember these scriptures, meditate on them and pray.
1. Take charge of your thoughts - 2 Corinthians 10:5
2. Resist negative or evil thoughts - 1 Peter 5:9
3. Think Good Thoughts - Philippians 4: 8
May the Lord guard and guide our hearts and minds. Amen
